For my readers and anyone new here – welcome to Outfit #2 of my 12 Outfits of Christmas! The idea was that I had a lot of different activities and events during the holiday season, as we all do, and I didn’t want to wear the same thing over and over. I put together 12 Holiday Outfits that I’m going to wear for different things throughout the month of December. The first outfit was yesterday and I’ll be posting one every weekday until Wednesday December 23! Please join me if you’d like – #12OutfitsofChristmas on Instagram (I’ll periodically share my favorites that you guys have come up with) and a linkup here at the bottom of my post. If you know in advance which days you’d like to post then shoot me an email (dholdy @ gmail) and I’d be happy to throw you into my post for the day. 🙂 Man I love the holidays, outfits, and blogging.
This How We Wore It linkup is one of my favorites to do, regardless of the season, and it fit in perfectly with this series! Here’s how it works: We sign up on Brooke‘s blog and she sends us the post date and a inspiration photo. We all interpret the outfit our own way, take pics and post on the specified date. I absolutely love looking at all the different ways people styled this look because we’re all NORMAL people with normal closets. It really gives me better closet inspiration on remixing my outfits than any high-end fashion blogger or pinterest post. (You can sign up and participate too! Head over to Brooke’s blog today!)
This was the inspiration photo that Brooke sent us from Because Shanna Said So and I was stoked to see it because it’s definitely within the reaches of my closet. Black, tan, plaid, and cheetah is a combination I’ve used before and loved! I actually wore this outfit to dinner for my mom’s birthday last week. It’s styled but casual, fun print-mixing without being over-the-top, and best of all – comfy.Â
Making faces at Reese always makes outfit photos less awkward to take but wayyyy more awkward to post.
Sweater: Target, Leggings: Old Navy, Booties: Forever Young, Scarf: Old Navy, Headband: F21, Earrings: Charming Charlie, Leather Jacket: Target
Do you guys wear socks with these? I never really know how to wear them, but I think socks look weird in the cutouts so… I don’t even though my feet get cold. Fashion is weird.
Go check out how all these ladies styled the look! Link up below if you have a holiday outfit you’d like to share, or feel free to come back another weekday this month and link up with your #12OutfitsofChristmas! Happy Holidays!

Yes to normal people wearing normal clothes! I love your take on the look. I didn’t even consider pants, but I’m going to now.
