Every year, around this time, I start to feel like I’m at the top of the roller coaster hill. Excited. A little scared. Can’t wait for the funnest part, right ahead of me. I’ve waited in line for THIS. Here it is.
I get so pumped, and I want to make sure I make the most of it. And every year, around this time, I think “I wonder how much time is left in this year.” And every year, it’s right about 100 days. My brain and body know the cycle. It feels important.
We’ve lost so much time. Quarantine and having a new baby and bleeding for months and moving and getting a hysterectomy…how did so much happen last year and yet it completely disappeared? I don’t know. But I feel pulled to claim my time right now. To mark it, see it, and use it.
As of today, we have 100 days left in 2021. It’s such a manageable amount of time. It’s long enough to really DO something, and it’s short enough that the end is in sight.
In the last 100 days of 2021 I hope to do a few things:
- Pay off one particular debt
- Finish my first workable draft of my fiction novel (finished outlining last week and started writing yesterday!)
- Break 100 books! (I’m currently at 67 for the year)
- Complete nagging maintenance tasks I’ve been putting off to start 2022 clean
- Fix the rock chip in my windshield
- Repair the wheel flare and other minor things on my Jeep
- FINALLY finish my closet detox and take it to D.I.
- Etc.
- Finish Ella Enchanted with Reese (we are v slow & inconsistent)
- Create my girls’ yearbooks that I’ve fallen very behind on
- Not one but TWO girls trips!!!!!
- Spend more time making holiday traditions and memories with my little family instead of deferring to extended family for it
So what did you want for 2021?
You’ve got 100 days to make it happen.
