Pregnancy, Babies, Motherhood: A Compilation

IMG_1881

A sweet friend on Twitter commented that she was going to save all my posts in a binder for when she needed them, and others have said that they pin my pregnancy, baby, and mom posts for later. I was so flattered and so happy! I write these to remember them myself, but mostly to share them with others. Taking this leap is so weird. You want to know everything, but it’s all in this weird, vague, unrelatable way.

The internet is helpful, but terrifying.

Books are helpful, but so clinical and static.

Our moms are helpful, but that was 20 years ago and A LOT has changed.

Surprisingly some of the best resources I had were blogs of women kind of like me, and a wealth of internet friends. So I’ve tried to return the many favors I got while pregnant and as a new mom, and share what I’ve learned.

These type of posts are my most successful, which feels so weird. I never intended (and certainly don’t plan) for this to become a bona fide “mommy blog.” I’ve always just wanted to write what I wanted to write. It’s always been about my life and thoughts and experience. Naturally that has shifted to have a lot of baby/mommy/pregnancy stuff in the last couple of years. And I feel great about it. It’s brought so many cool people and internet friends into my life. I have gotten some vital advice and helpful feedback that has helped me along the way. You guys are the best.

I plan to continue writing about stupid internet things, Harry Potter Book Club, style, TV shows, beauty, Star Wars, books, and the dumb things that I find funny. But I also plan to keep writing these posts about pregnancy, babies, and motherhood.

For that reason I created that new tab up there. See it? ‘Pregnancy, Babies, and Moms.’ That is a collection of all of the hopefully helpful posts I’ve written these last couple of years about this path of motherhood. If you’re new here, or you are expecting – that’s a good place to start.

For this last part, I need your help and input. What else would be helpful? What other topics should I tackle? I am by no means an expert on ANY OF THIS. But at least some of you like some of these posts, so I will try to keep helping as much as I can. If you like a certain type of post, or think of something you’d like me to write about PLEASE let me know. Comment below, text me, message me on social media. Whatever. I would love to hear from you.

As always, I love you guys. Thanks for being so cool and supportive. You’re all 100 emoji.

I love your posts where you just ramble on about a specific topic. I think they were usually about teaching or church related. Your mom stuff is great, but I’ve always loved reading your opinions on topics on how most of us feel about them. They’re so genuine and relatable. They make me laugh out loud so I always feel uplifted and like I didn’t waste my time sticking around to read. (Kinda like “Scary Mommy” – that blog is gold! And you have that spark too with your writing.)
