Last year Ryan dragged me to the Lower Lights Christmas concert. I complained for a variety of reasons: I was pregnant, I hate folk music, I was pregnant, I’ve passed the age where concerts were fun, I was pregnant, and it was a school night, to name a few. To my very great surprise it ended up being a really fun concert! We decided we’d go again this year with our besties – The Findeis’.
Just a lil pregnant bb Danica. Just a kid.
{Featuring those fun postpartum regrowth hairs and Danica learning for the thousandth time that I shouldn’t line my lower lid or I get beady eyed.} This look would be great for going to see The Christmas Carol, or The Nutcracker, or any other Christmas concert or show you like to attend during the holidays. Concert wear is fun because you can get a little more sparkly, especially at Christmastime. Yeah, Ryan (I guess I can’t call him The Beard until his beard grows back! LOLZ) is wearing a baseball hat but we’re pretty used to being at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to dressing up. A few years ago I just had to accept that I would be more dressed up than most of the people anywhere I went, and then I just got comfortable with it.
Dress: Shop Pink Blush, Flats: DSW,
Speaking of comfortable – this dress is actually a maternity dress. I bought it last year for the holidays but we ended up not doing too much and it felt too fancy or too dressy for the parties we did attend. Thankfully it doesn’t LOOK too maternity, and it’s STRETCHY YOU GUYS. I love it. Super soft. We were going to be doing dinner downtown and probably walking a bit, so I opted for flats versus heels for the night.
Definitely check out The Lower Lights Christmas stuff. It’s awesome and it’s on Spotify. They’re a band of like 30 people and they only play like hymns and spirituals. You’ll feel like you’re at an old timey revival, but in the best possible way. Fun Fact: Ryan actually played a few shows with them filling in for missing band members in the past.
I mean I’m still mostly just listening to the perfection that is N*SYNC’s Christmas album with the occasional Glee cover, but even I made an exception for these guys. That should say something.
LINK UP! This has been so fun!
