Last week I threw a very last minute, very casual Favorite Things party for my birthday. Throwing your own birthday party is lame and embarrassing, but it doesn’t count as throwing your own birthday party if you disguise it as a Favorite Things Party, right? I sure hope not. Really I just wanted an excuse to get together with awesome girlfriends. I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I really do believe in girlfriends and girl power and sisterhood and glitter and beauty products. These parties always leave me feeling brighter, shinier and more positive. And usually looking cuter because I get some great stuff from my friends. Honestly these are the only pictures I took that night – a few outfit photos before the party and the table spread before anyone arrived. Yikes. But that’s how great the party was!!! (I still need help learning how to use my camera/take pictures. I’m the worst.)

Can I just say how happy I am that flares are making a comeback? Although I never really considered them “out.” I’ve always loved them. They make me look taller and they balance my hourglass and look jammin with heels. Heart-eyed emojis for you, flared jeans.

This party was no exception to the sparkly standard. These parties have changed as my friends have all gotten to know each other and several of us have had little babies or pregnant bellies to add to the guest list. But they’ve only gotten better! I especially love seeing the diversity of girls and favorite things at each and every party.

Favorite Things Party Essentials: cute take-home bags, yummy treats and enough Diet Coke for a lifetime.
