Farewell, sweet Puj tub. Until we put a newborn baby in you again. Hello big kid tub!
Reese has been spilling (literally and figuratively) out of her Puj tub for weeks, so it was finally time to move her to the big tub. Don’t let the photo fool you. That was the only smile I’ve gotten out of her in it for 3 nights straight. The big tub freaks her out and she misses her Puj. We’re working on it.
I realized how much we loved our Puj tub, and that I had never blogged about it. There are a few other baby products that we use everyday that I regularly recommend to friends and family, but haven’t made an appearance on the blog yet. Now is a good a time as any to share, right? Sorry a lot of this is repetitive but…
Here are the Baby Products we use every single day!
Puj Tub – LOVED LOVED LOVED this. Super fast, not scary and basically impossible for them to drown in. It made bath time easier and way less scary for a n00b like me. It’s also super light and easy to move to any sink you want to use!
Let’s Playground Micro Mat – Makes diaper changes fast and easy. Super easy to clean if thing’s get ~violent.
Lush Ultrabalm – I guess I don’t use this EVERYDAY but anytime her lil bum looks a little red it’s my absolute fave. I was a little skeptical when the gay guy at Lush recommended it, but she got a sad diaper rash after a road trip once and I used Desitin for a day or so and it seemed to be improving.. but barely if at all. Finally I broke out the Ultrabalm and used it – the rash was COMPLETELY GONE by the next diaper change. Love it. UGH we just need one down here in Utah County!!!!!!!
Bumbo – You’ve seen it and it’s already on your list right? good. Like her Puj, she’s spilling out of her Bumbo too LOL. But we still use it every single day. We need to buy a high chair soon (maybe the IKEA one? Any other suggestions?). Her’s is hot pink but we’ll buy a boy color or a cover if we have a lil boy one day.
Ubbi Diaper Pail – There’s a lot of back and forth about diaper pails. You just have to think about your lifestyle. Where are you gonna change most of the diapers? How convenient is your outside garbage can? I change most of Reese’s diapers downstairs in the living room – so I just walk the diapers to the garbage can in my garage NBD. But I still change a lot upstairs, and I don’t empty those out very frequently. I got this $80 diaper pail (and I just use regular, cheapo garbage bags for it – not special diaper pail bags) and every single time I open it I’m like “OH MY GOSH THERE IS SO MUCH STINK IN THERE I CAN’T BELIEVE IT STAYS CONTAINED!” So yeah, it works. Plus it’s plain white and I’ll use it forever for all my kids.
Stretchy Knit Swaddles – Yeah the muslin and linen swaddles are fine! I just prefer these. They’re stretchier, softer and somehow take up less space. I love the Lou Lou & Company ones.
Nuk Bottles – This will depend on your baby, but once you find the ones your baby likes buy a bunch. We have a few Avent but mostly the big and small sized Nuks so the nipples and caps are all compatible. Reese has a tiny little mouth so she dribbled and sometimes choked a little with other bottles. The nipple on these also mimics a real nipple so I think it’s part of the reason she had no problem going back and forth between bottle and breast.
Wubbanub – I’ve posted about this like 8x but yeah. Still using these every day. She doesn’t even want any other binkies.
Winkle Toy – My bestie got one of these for Ru and it was so cute and Reese loved to play with it when they came over so we finally got her one. Apparently it’s great for their motor skills and hand-eye coordination. I just like that it’s super easy to hand her, throw in the car seat or take along somewhere with us.
How cute is this pic of Reese and Ru playin in the bb gym?!
Play Gym – I got one of these from my cousins and hadn’t even thought of them before. I pulled it out one day when I was watching Ruby too and they LOVED it. Laying down, or now that Reese sits up – super entertaining and fun! We literally use it every day.
Enfamil Travel Packets & Liquid Formula Bottles – One thing I’m proud of with Reese is that we are super flexible and don’t let eating or nap time get in the way of life. We live on the go – Reese can eat and nap and play anywhere. Yesterday I poured one of the Liquid Formula bottles into her bottle and fed her all while we walked through the grocery store because that’s when she got hungry. I sometimes scoop formula powder into a little dispenser to take along, but it’s nice that I always have a few of those little 4 oz packets in my diaper bag just in case.
Fawn Diaper Bag – I got this for Mother’s Day (kinda from The Beard, mostly from myself) and finally I will review it. I love that it doesn’t look like a diaper bag. I like that it doesn’t have too much going on – a few simple pockets and a zipper pocket on the front. I like using the backpack AND sling straps according to my needs. I like that it stays clean and is easy to wipe. It is, however, showing wear already. I overpack it, so that might be contributing. And I’ve heard that she is really really good about sending a replacement when you need it. Overall I recommend it. I’ll probably get a Skip Hop Versa or Timi & Leslie when I need a new one/next baby.
Uppababy Mesa & Cruz Travel System – I LOVE it. I think I’ll upgrade to the Vista with baby #2 if I decide I need a double. It’s hard to recommend a stroller system because a lot of it does depend on your lifestyle. I wanted a light, easy stroller that I could quickly pop out and push her around the mall in, because THAT is my lifestyle.
You definitely don’t NEED all of these, and some of these may not work as well with your baby and lifestyle. “You gotta mom how you wanna mom.” – my smart friend Jessica Tuft. But these are the things we use every single day and feel confident recommending to our friends and family. I hope its helpful!

Have you tried laying her down in the big tub? I did that with Ezra the first few times I bathed him in there and he loved it! I just gave him a toy and he went crazy kicking and giggling.
I LOOOOVE the IKEA high chair. It’s so easy to clean and SO cheap. I would much rather wipe down a seat than have to launder a cover every time it gets dirty (which is every meal). And when the tray gets old or dirty I can replace it for a cool $5.
I’m literally obsessed with my Skip Hop Versa bag. It probs doesn’t fit EVERYTHING I could possibly need in it, but I don’t love having a huge bag anyway, so it fits what I want/need it to fit. Also, it gets bonus points for not looking like a total mom-bag 😉
Justin and I got the high chairs that you clip right onto the table. We have a small kitchen, so we don’t have to worry about space, and he’s at the table with us as part of the family like this one http://www.target.com/p/summer-infant-secureseat-booster-seat/-/A-13933371?ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=13933371&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=pla_baby+shopping&adgroup=sc_baby&LID=9pgs&KID=6a67a80c-5e00-4a32-b9e1-3ba6c8768d16&kpid=13933371&gclid=Cj0KEQjw4ZOwBRDoxpjAvPXAl5MBEiQAEek_3ktr4V97bGtjEQjZ8NgSClPImt0I8JDwXL6TsK6cAZ0aAl_88P8HAQ
