How We Wore It // Keepin it Casual

DSCN0305This challenge was a breeze, because this is basically my mom-iform anytime I have to leave the house. Unless I can get away with my gym clothes, obvs. If you’ve read this blog for longer than a month you know I have an ongoing love affair with stretchy pencil skirts. Shorts are never long enough or comfortable for me. I just can’t do the bermuda thing with my body type. Plus I’ve never seen anything scream MORMON like kneelength shorts and a shade tee. Can’t do it, won’t do it.

Robyn’s cute outfit is the perfect casual look – cuffed jeans, camo, baseball cap, sneaks and a loose, laidback fit to the tee. But with hair done, slim jeans, and makeup it is far from sloppy. Home run. via Robyn Vilate

The second Brooke emailed me the pic I knew exactly what I’d be wearing. White converse? Check. Dodgers ball cap? Check. This camo pencil skirt feels a little too casual for church, but I try to rock it during the week whenever I can. And to top it off my favorite loose boyfriend tee from Old Navy (I also have it in white and hot pink and PSA: It’s the best. Everyone go buy a few. You won’t regret it.)

Photo Cred: my best friend Eliesa who was nice enough to snap these for me after we lugged our bbs through the AMAZING Alice Lane house in the Parade of Homes which she helped design! She is amazing and has the best taste ever.

All of my hair is falling out THANKS REESE and I’m in the awkward growing-out-my-thick-fringe-bangs-phase which is more of a calendar year than a phase, so I’m actually wearing my hats much more frequently than usual. My hairstylist mom told me to wash my hair twice a week instead of my usual once to stimulate the scalp for the regrowth. Part of me thinks she just can’t kick the disgust she feels that her daughter washes her hair only every 8-9 days. But I’ve been listening anyway. 🙁 I’m washing twice a week, only curling it once a week and throwing on a hat just about every other day. I’m fooling myself into thinking no one can see my thinning hair and spastic bangs.

We’ve all gone through the thinning hair stage! I thought for sure I would go totally bald! I’m surprised you got such great pics at that house! When we went there were soooo many people, although, it was a Saturday. I’m nowhere near brave enough to wear camo, but this skirt is actually super cute!

It was the same with me for a few months after Rhys was born…I’m still working on getting it back to it’s natural bright red color (it’s a dead brown right now) and it’s old health, I wear a lot of fabric headbands.

    You look so laid back!
